parkrun

The organisation ‘parkrun’ is all about inclusiveness and wellbeing with the mission to create a healthier, happier planet. They also want to bring together as many people as possible to feel part of a real local community brought together. It is family friendly, and all ages and abilities are welcomed.
 
On the Saturday morning of Baptist Assembly, we are hoping to support the Telford parkrun which happens next to the Telford International Centre.

Assembly delegates can join in several ways:

• Walk, jog, or run the 5km course. If you’re not a regular at parkrun already, you will need to go to http://parkrun.org.uk/register and bring your barcode with you.
• Volunteer on the course. There are a variety of easy roles and full support given. Again, you will need to have registered with parkrun to do this.
• Volunteer on our refreshments table at the finish where we aim to raise donations for a local good cause which local churches are involved with.
• Provide cakes and biscuits. 

In the lead up we are hoping to create a ‘parkrun Baptists’ group on Facebook where we can work out who is doing what, get ourselves organised and perhaps also share parkrun stories and ideas. We are aiming to get t-shirts for everyone.
